DIY Fairy Jars

This is a really fun and easy project, it works very well for a birthday present or a  (rather late) Christmas present. I am not exactly sure what to call them but I think that fairy jars will do.
Here is what you will need:
  • ·         Old Jars
  • ·         Paint (preferably Acrylic )
  • ·         A Scalpel
  • ·         Gaffer Tape
  • ·         Scissors
  • ·         Measuring Tape
  • ·         A Permanent Marker
  • ·         A Sponge
  • ·         A Tea Light

(you could possibly substitute some of these items)

Step 1
Measure  the circumference of a clean jar with a measuring tape.

Step 2

Using the measuring tape mark onto your Gaffer tape the length of the circumference of the jar so that you know how much tape you have to work with.
Step 3
Choose some simple shapes to start with such a triangles which I have chosen and draw them on to the tape.
Step 4
Cut out the shapes using your scalpel, if you are clumsy or under a certain age get an adult to help you.

Step 5
Stick your designs on to the inside of your jars, try and stick it quite firmly so that it stays.
Step 6
Choose a colour, here I have chosen an orange and start to sponge it onto the inside of the jar.
Step 7
Leave 4 or more hours for the paint to dry and the peel off the tape from the inside of the glass.
Step 8
Now simply put a tea light  into the jar, light it and enjoy your creations.

Thank You and Enjoy xx
